So after Telluride & Mesa Verde on Jan. 11th, we drove to Donny's aunt's house in southwest Colorado. I've been wanting to visit Natalie's since we got married and I finally got to go. Since then Natalie built a new house and I was eager to see it. To say it was beautiful would be an understatement. Her house overlooks the San Juan mountains.
That night we arrived, we ate dinner with Natalie's family and we sat around and talked about Bigfoot--which is random because two days later Donny's dad called saying someone saw a Bigfoot near their home in southern California.
The next morning, my neice and nephews got to ride one of their horses and check out the barn.

Right after we packed the van and loaded the kids, the van wouldn't start. So we all unloaded and waited inside while Ty and Donny fixed the van. A few hours later, we were on our way.
Before we left the area though, we made a stop at the Black Canyon of the Gunnison River.

This section of river is class V kayaking run and their is one part of the river you must portage, because the water goes underground. It's seeing canyons like this that I wish I was a kayaker so I could see beautiful canyons like this from the bottom up and see the canyon in it's entirety. The world is so beautiful and I love that my husband and his family loves looking at rivers just like me!
