My Uncle Ed

On New Years Eve, my uncle Ed passed away. He was the 9th of 11 children. My mom is #8. He is the first of 11 to pass away. It all came as a shock to many of us. He had 4 kids, 3 which are in their 20s and a 10 year old.

On the left is my Uncle Ed with two of my mother's brothers and on the right is my grandfather Don.

One thing that comforted me is that two days before Ed passed away (last Wednesday), he woke up in the middle of the night and he sensed the presense of my grandfather Don in the hospital room with him. My grandfather passed away in 1987. My grandfather came to prepare him to come home.

I do know that we will each live again after this life. That this life is not the end. We will each live again because of Jesus Christ. Our purpose on this earth is to be tested to see whether we are worthy to live with our Heavenly Father again. He desires us to live with Him again and as long as we are pure and clean, we will be able to be in His presence. I know that we can have an eternal family forever. I know that as long as we are living the commandments we will not be taken before our time. It must have been Ed's time. I will miss him and his jokes and being a part of my life. But I do know that I will see him again and my grandfather once again. I know it.
